Walking mysteries

You can say I'm a detective. No, I don't solve murders or crimes a la Mr. Holmes or Ms. Drew, I solve people. Now this may seem like a new concept to you. But try to be open minded and look around you, hundreds of people walking by. Doesn't it amaze you that each and every one of them has their own life story, their own thoughts and opinions, secrets; and you can never know all of it? Each person is like an intricate puzzle, with their own unique pieces and solutions. Endless walking conundrums around you, just waiting for you to solve them. So, my hobbies include befriending mysterious people and solving them. When they're solved, I leave them behind like mere wrappers of a candy i already observed and consumed. (Weird analogy, I know) But some mysteries interest you so much that even when you're done solving them, their thought still lingers in your mind, you keep thinking that maybe there was one more layer to them. That's the kind of mysteries I want to s

Seeking validation

Why do people feel the need to update everyone about their social life? I feel that the answer to this is "validation"; validation from others that your life is indeed, a tiny bit better than other's lives, and to convince your own self that it is, because "being optimistic" might not be a solution, but atleast it makes you feel better about yourself. Compare life to a rollercoaster. There is a point where you reach the very top and then there's nowhere to go but down, so swiftly that you are screaming, your hair goes haywire and your face looks weird. At that point, there is always a camera that captures you. People always remember your failures the best, but they often forget that you'd been at the top of the figurative rollercoaster just moments ago. That is why the human mind feels that it should accentuate it's successes too, because no one wants to be remembered as 'the one who always fails', right? It tries to hide one's failure

Writing is hard!

Hello! As you can see, I've not updated in days. That is partly because, as the title suggests, writing is hard. Writing is an art, they said. A form of expression so splendid, it can create magnificent imaginary worlds, it can make you cry, or laugh. It brings out a range of emotions out of the reader, really, even if it is badly written. All of that is true, but imagine this scenario. I prepare myself for writing an essay. I set up my desk, play inspiring music, get a cup of coffee to help my mind get going. Then I brainstorm all the ideas. I jot down, or sometimes mentally note the points I want to include in it. I am in the inspired state of mind. All ready to write now. Then arises the biggest question - "How do I start this thing?" I get tensed because the start is supposed to be captivating, or so everyone says. Finally, I literally end up at a loss for words. But hey, at least I wrote the title of the essay down. That is serious progress. Some times, it s

Circular Gallifreyan Appreciation Post

Image
You've heard of Klingon, now get ready for Circular Gallifreyan! Circular Gallifreyan is the writing script of the Time Lords of Gallifrey, as seen in the telly show Doctor Who. Though it is hard to translate or write, this fictional invention is really amazing. I mean, it makes really boring sentences look awesome! Like this one : Yeah, "bowties are cool" is also a Whovian inside joke, but still, look how awesome that is!  I'll just go ahead and post some more of these, because circular Gallifreyan is the best thing since sliced bread (atleast I believe so) " Allons-y!" "Take a sad song and make it better"(a.k.a. the lyrics to 'Hey Jude') "I have loved the stars too fondly to be afraid of the night" "This is circular Gallifreyan" (that's circular-ception!) I also came across this brilliant Tumblr post the other day: If you're thinking that this is

My obsession with fonts

It was yesterday when I spent about fifteen minutes of my time creating this blog. I put in about ten minutes of thought into writing a blogpost. And then I spent an eternity deciding the text font. It's such a minor thing, really, deciding the font. Just pick a generic one that looks good and move ahead. But to me, it's like I'm a shopaholic in a clothing store. I have to try out all the font styles, because each one looks better than the earlier one, and I surely don't want to miss the most perfect font. Yes, I even try out all the wingdings.  And yeah, I also know that the dropdowns almost always show you the style of all fonts and there's no need to try them all out, but the styles aren't displayed with the specific set of words I just typed out, and I need to know how these specific letters, in their given order, look. You may say that I have to dot all the 'i's and cross all the 't's.  Then, after going through all the fonts, i

My first blogpost!

Hello, reader! As you can see, this is my first post on here. Don't try to scroll down further, or you might end up wasting your time, what with trying to run into a virtual wall. This isn't platform 9&3/4! Now that we're past the silly warning and the Harry Potter reference I sneaked in, let's get to an introduction. Hi, I'm Nez, and this is, well, my attempt at breaking the ice. Clearly I'm not good at it. Welp, what can I do, I'm an awkward person. Anyways, let's move ahead. I am a 'resident of the internet' (that's what you call people who spend most of their time on the internet, right?) and my favourite hobby, other than sleeping and devouring food, is being in fandoms. Yes, I am what the people call a 'fangirl'. Guilty. But more on that later. That's a story for another blogpost. I've recently discovered that blogging is an awesome way to keep track of your thoughts. So, if you're reading this, future m
